“So the sun stood still in the midst of heaven, and did not hasten to go down for about a whole day.” Joshua 10:13
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.” Isaiah 55:8-9
Joshua, Chapter 10 gives us a great view of how God came through in a mighty way and gave great victory to Joshua and the Israelites. Science cannot explain how or why the sun stood still that day and did not go down. God allowed this so that His people could avenge themselves and destroy every last one of their enemies.
As Christians, we know that God is sovereign and He is free to carry out His plan for our lives. He is able to do whatever He will, whenever He will, for whatever His great purpose. He is not limited by space or time.
God also does not follow rules. He creates them. He does not worry about political correctness, because He does whatever needs to be done for our good and for His eternal purposes.
If we saturate ourselves in God’s Word and ask the Holy Spirit to open our hearts and minds to what He wants us to learn, we will come to know some of His character.
God’s Word tells us that His thoughts are not our thoughts and His ways are not our ways. In the Bible, we are given many pictures of a loving Heavenly Father whom we can trust. His promises are many and He is so good to keep every one of them. As we trust and follow Him, we will find that He is with us every step of the way.
“Wherever He leads I’ll go, wherever He leads I’ll go, I’ll follow the One who loves me so, wherever He leads I’ll go.” 🎶🎶🎶
