“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes: first to the Jew, then to the Gentile. For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.” Romans 1:16-17
Today we live by faith. If we trust and believe in Jesus Christ, have a personal relationship with Him, seek Him through His Word with all of our heart, God does reveal a faith in us that leads us to more faith in Him. The Bible says that, “Faith comes from hearing, and hearing from the Word of God.” Romans 10:17
True faith means that we believe and are convinced that something is true. It means that we stake our lives on believing a certain thing. For Christians, it means that we believe and are convinced that Jesus Christ is who He said He is, that He was crucified for our sins, buried, rose on the third day, and ascended to Heaven, where He sits at the right hand of the Father. Our faith gives us the assurance that He will return again some day.
It’s amazing how our faith in God is strengthened as we hunger after His Word! Coming before Him with our minds clean and ready to receive His Word into our hearts is an act of faith in itself. The Bible comes alive when we ask God to reveal it to us.
We believe that God’s Word holds promise and power.
We believe that He will always act on our behalf.
And, we believe that His will for our lives is working out for our good and for His glory.
It takes a strong person to allow this kind of faith to be exercised in his/her life. Having that kind of faith definitely brings a “……peace of God that passeth all understanding….” Philippians 4:5-7
As we continue to believe God each day, through the experiences of our faith, we can move with joy and certainty from faith to more faith—the powerful stepping stones on our walk with the Lord.
