“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation, to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For in it, the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith, as it is written, “The righteous shall live by faith.” Romans 1:16:17
Today we live by faith. If we believe in Jesus Christ, have a personal relationship with Him, and seek Him through His Word with all of our heart, God does reveal a faith in us that leads us to more faith in Him. The Bible says that, “Faith comes from hearing, and hearing from the Word of God.” Romans 10:17
True faith means that we believe and are convinced that something is true. It means that we stake our lives on believing a certain thing. In our case as Christians, we believe and are convinced that Jesus Christ is who He say He is and that He was crucified for our sins, buried, and on the third day He rose, and later ascended to Heaven, where He sits at the right hand of the Father. Best of all, someday He will come again!
It is amazing how our faith in God is strengthened as we hunger after His Word; how the Bible comes alive when we ask God to reveal it to us. Coming before Him with our minds clean and ready to receive His Word into our hearts is an act of faith in itself. We believe that His Word holds promise and power. We believe that that very power and those promises are meant for each one of us who names the name of Jesus Christ. We believe that He will always act on our behalf. And, we believe that whatever He wills for our lives is working out for our good and for His glory. It takes a strong person to allow that kind of faith to be exercised in his/her life. Having that kind of faith brings a “……peace of God that passeth all understanding….” Philippians 4:5-7
As we continue to believe God each day, through the experiences of our faith, we can move with joy and certainty from faith to more faith to more faith—the powerful stepping stones on our walk with the Lord.
