“Only let your manner of life be worthy of the gospel of Christ, so that whether I come and see you or am absent, I may hear of you that you are standing firm in one spirit, with one mind striving side by side for the faith of the gospel.” Philippians 1:27
Christians come from different backgrounds and religious affiliations, but there is one common denominator that binds us together—our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
We are children of God who have much more in common than our differences. While we may wear different hats in our daily lives, we are bound together as servants of the Most High King. We may be at different ages and stages in our lives, but our spiritual is definitely bound together by our Heavenly Father, who created us, and chose us to be His children.
God had a plan for us before we were created. He has given us eternal life through our faith in Jesus.
Friend, wherever you are in your faith walk, please know that God is right there in the middle.
He knows where you are in this stage of your life.
He knows your thoughts.
He knows your strengths and weaknesses.
He knows your struggles and successes.
He knows the desires of your heart.
He hears your prayers and the cries of your heart.
He even knows when you grow tired, discouraged, and weary.
He knows when you want to give up.
He knows when you desire solitude, even for just an hour!
Sometimes, our “busyness” begins to press in on us. We might feel as though we cannot juggle our responsibilities the way we once could.
At other times, we are blindsided by a storm that blows into our life in the blink of an eye. And we feel that life was already difficult enough. Now this!!
Friends, I have been at each of these crossroads during my walk of faith. And were it not for God, and others, I know that I would not have had the strength to go forward.
Standing firm in our faith requires action on our part. We must believe that God is who He says He is; that He will do what He says He will do; that we are who God says we are; and we must believe that His Spirit is alive and working in us.
So you see, our faith comes down to belief. We must believe. Today, I pray that each of us will hold on to the nail-scarred hand of Jesus. In doing so, we cannot help but go forward with courage and the assurance that He is always with us. I believe we will realize even more, just how much He helps us. He’s just good like that!! And, I’m so thankful!!
