“Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also. And you know the way to where I am going.” John 14:1-4
God loves us. Through the many promises found in the Bible we are able to have total assurance that this life will pale in comparison to what He is preparing for us. (See John 14:1-4) How exciting!
I am reminded of an old hymn I had not thought of for many years entitled, “How Beautiful Heaven Must Be.” If you know it, why not sing along. That’s what I’m going to do.
“We read of a place that’s called heaven,
It’s made for the pure and the free;
These truths in God’s Word He hath given,
How beautiful heaven must be.
Refrain:
How beautiful heaven must be,
Sweet home of the happy and free;
Fair haven of rest for the weary,
How beautiful heaven must be.
In heaven no drooping nor pining,
No wishing for elsewhere to be;
God’s light is forever there shining,
How beautiful heaven must be.
Pure waters of life there are flowing,
And all who will drink may be free;
Rare jewels of splendor are glowing,
How beautiful heaven must be.
The angels so sweetly are singing,
Up there by the beautiful sea;
Sweet chords from their gold harps are ringing,
How beautiful heaven must be.”
“No eye has seen, no ear has heard, and no mind has imagined what God has prepared for those who love Him.”
I Corinthians 2:9
Prayer: Dear God, you are worthy to be praised now and forevermore. With our limited knowledge and wisdom, we can only imagine what Heaven will be like. One thing we do believe, based on Your Word, is that Heaven will be beautiful and unlike anything we’ve ever seen or experienced. And it will last forever! Thank you for loving us, caring for us, and preparing us for that place where we will spend eternity and worship You through endless ages. Please help us continue to run our race of life here on earth, and give us Your strength and ability to share the Good News with a hurting and sinful world. This, I pray in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord. Amen.
