“Our fullness comes from His fullness. God is in Christ filling Him up. Christ is in us filling us up.” Dr. David Jeremiah
I was going through a stack of papers on my desk recently and came across a page of notes that I had taken some time ago while watching one of Dr. David Jeremiah’s online messages. The anonymous quote below is one that I wrote down, planning to reference at a later time. I guess now is the time…..
“Two natures beat within my breast
The one is foul
The one is blessed
The one I love
The one I hate
The one I feed will dominate.” Anonymous
Dr. Jeremiah went on to ask the following question: “Which nature are you feeding?” I am sure every Christian reading this would have the desire to feed the nature that will bring honor and glory to our Lord Jesus Christ. As we renew our hearts to Him daily, He will strengthen us to be the person He has called us to be.
Finally, I am reminded of the timeless old hymn, “Just a Closer Walk with Thee.”
I am weak but Thou art strong;
Jesus, keep me from all wrong;
I’ll be satisfied as long
As I walk, let me walk close to Thee.
Through this world of toils and snares,
If I falter, Lord, who cares?
Who with me my burden shares?
None but Thee, dear Lord, none but Thee.
When my feeble life is o’er,
Time for me will be no more;
Guide me gently, safely o’er
To Thy kingdom shore, to Thy shore.
Chorus:
Just a closer walk with Thee,
Grant it, Jesus, is my plea,
Daily walking close to Thee,
Let it be, dear Lord, let it be.
