Good morning from beautiful East Texas! I awoke to the melodious sound of not one, but many birds ushering in this day. I don’t know, but it seems to me their voices are just a little bit deeper—a little bit richer, than our city birds. Or maybe I’m just more acutely attuned to the sights and sounds in this place that I love so much.
I’m reading an encouraging little book entitled, Jesus, Our Great Hope, by Dr. Criswell Freeman. The book contains lots of scripture and meaningful quotes. In fact, I’ve found so much HOPE spread throughout this book. For example:
“For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world–our faith.” I John 5:4.
“Adversity is always unexpected and unwelcomed. It is an intruder and a thief, and yet in the hands of God, adversity becomes the means through which His supernatural power is demonstrated.” Dr. Charles Stanley
Today, I’m thankful for the HOPE that is found through faith in Jesus Christ—a personal faith—the kind that helps us overcome anything this world throws our way. Family and friends, I pray that you have that kind of faith today. It sure is a comforting way to begin this beautiful day!
