“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33
Have you even felt as though God has forgotten about you? I am pretty sure that we’ve all felt that way at one time or another. We may even feel that we are insignificant in His eyes. Sometimes, feelings such as this may be short-lived. At other times, the evil one may catch us at a vulnerable time and will do his best to trick us into believing his lies. When these times come, may we always remember that Satan is an evil instigator and the father of lies. He wants to wreck and ruin us, thereby preventing us from spreading the light and love of Jesus to those we encounter. His goal is to beat us down and render us useless for the Kingdom of God.
Friends, I am here to tell you, based on the authority of God’s Word, that you do matter greatly to God. Rest assured that God hasn’t forgotten you and He is faithful to His Word. He will guide you through life’s trials. He will give you strength to make it through this day. And the next day. And the next. He’s got your back 24/7.
Because of who God is, we have every reason to rejoice no matter what our circumstances may be! Today, we can take comfort in the words of Jesus, Himself, that are found in John 10:10: “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” What a joy it is to know that Jesus is the giver of abundant life to all who believe and follow after Him.
So, when you begin to feel as though you don’t matter to God, all you need to do is look back and remember the miracles you have seen and the stories you’ve heard. Then go to God’s Holy Word to find strength, wisdom, comfort, and peace. Talk to God and tell Him how you feel. Don’t let the enemy cloud your vision or blur your memory. Even in the storm His strength will never fail. He is good and trustworthy! He is unchangeable! He is God and there is none like Him!
Prayer: Dear Father, we give You praise today, knowing that You will never forget us. Your eyes are always on us and You long for a strong relationship with each of us. We praise and thank You for the many blessings that You have brought our way. We sincerely ask You to forgive us when and where we fail to walk in faith as we should. Give us strength and help us to walk in Your love as we share our faith in Jesus with those whom you place in our path. I pray this in Jesus name. Amen.
