Years ago, my sister sent this poem to me when I was facing major surgery. Reading it brought peace and reinforced what I already knew—that God was in every detail of what I faced. Since that time, I’ve shared the poem with many who are facing a mountain of some kind. I hope it will resonate with you as it did me.
The Rest of Victory
There is nothing…..
no circumstance,
no trouble,
no testing—
that can ever touch me until, first of all,
it has gone past God
and past Christ,
right through to me.
If it has come that far,
it has come with a great purpose,
which I may not understand
at the moment
but as I refuse to become panicky,
as I lift my eyes up to Him
and accept it as coming from His Throne
for some great purpose of blessing
to my own heart,
No sorrow will disturb me,
No trial will ever disarm me,
No circumstance will cause me to fret,
for I shall rest in the JOY
of what my Lord is.
That is THE REST OF VICTORY.

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, every day, it is You alone who gives us strength, perseverance, and the ability to go forward in victory. Thank You for leading us and giving us rest. Thank You that nothing can separate us from Your love through Christ Jesus. We honor You and we praise You for watching over us as You do. We love You and commit to follow You all the days of our lives. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen
