“The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.” Zephaniah 3:17
I love God’s Word! It gives direction and soothes my soul. It has strengthened my walk with the Lord Jesus over and over and over! Yet, what I gain from God’s Word is only scratching the surface of how much He loves each of us and how His heart rejoices when we do good things.
But His heart also breaks when we do not live as we should. It must grieve Him so much. And just as we feel when we see our loved ones hurting and seemingly helpless to rise above their circumstances, He must feel for the situations in which we find ourselves. The difference in Him and us is that He has the power to lift us out of our pit of despair and pain. I’m so thankful that He’s done it for me many times.
So when you don’t know where to turn, it’s Jesus who is ready and waiting to walk with you, pour His love into you, and help you stay on the path where you will reap eternal benefits. I don’t know of a better place to be than resting in our perfect Heavenly Father and His Word.
Prayer: Dear God, words fail to convey just how much we love You and Your Holy Word. It is life to our sometimes dry and parched spiritual bones. Your Word is alive! Thank You for showing up every time we open our Bible. Help us to live out our faith standing on Your promises. How they bring peace to us in such a fallen and sinful world. We want to make a difference for Jesus, so please give us Your wisdom and love for everyone we meet. I pray this in the mighty name of Jesus and for His sake. Amen.
