“But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” Hebrews 11:6
As I was reading scripture on faith, I suddenly became overwhelmed with thankfulness for my own personal faith in Jesus Christ and how that faith has shaped my life all of these years. Am I perfect? Heavens NO! Have I made mistakes that I deeply regret? YES! More than I can say, because I’ve now lived and learned a lot of years! But my faith assures me through God’s Word, that I am loved and accepted by my Heavenly Father, not because of what I’ve done to earn salvation, but because of what Jesus did for me and all of His creation on the Cross. I can say with assurance that He has never once let me go through a day by myself. In fact, I’m extremely thankful for His patience with me on days where I didn’t rely on His help, instead choosing to do things in my own strength.
Where does your faith lie today? In government, money, materialism, others–only to name a few? While we do hope for better days ahead, I know by experience that anything we rely on other than God’s sovereignty will disappoint us and leave us feeling anxious, frustrated, and empty.
God bless each one reading this today. I pray that you will be strong in your faith as you maneuver this thing called life. Below are some scriptures to encourage you today:
“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God.” Ephesians 2:8
“So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” Romans 10:17
“Faith sees the invisible; believes the unbelieveable; and receives the impossible.” Corrie Ten Boom
Prayer: Dear God, we can never thank You enough for Your wonder working power in our lives. Without faith in Jesus, we wouldn’t know which way to turn, and surely we’d go in the wrong direction without Your leadership in our lives. Thank You for loving us that much! Help us to always give praise and honor to You in all that we do and say. Forgive us when we fail to do the things we should whether by commission or omission. May we always be found near to Your heart. I pray these things in Jesus’ name. Amen.
