“Oh give thanks to the LORD, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever.” Psalm 106:1
Sometimes there aren’t enough words to thank God for what He has done and continues to do on our behalf. At other times, we may not feel like giving thanks. Life’s circumstances tend to weigh heavily upon us and we don’t feel spiritually/physically/emotionally strong. But let us never forget that our faith in Jesus is not based upon feelings, rather what He did on the cross for all mankind.
Sure, there are times when we feel as though we could conquer the world! We seem to be clicking right along with nothing to distract us. Out of nowhere, a situation may come along leaving us feeling weak and vulnerable. It is during those times–especially those times, that we must continue to pray and study God’s Word to regain our spiritual strength.
This world is full of sin, heartache, and pain. That’s obvious to everyone. But what we as Christians do with our faith will make a difference not only in our lives, but in the lives of others.
Showing gratitude for God’s love and care will carry us through those times we find ourselves struggling in the wake of life’s challenges. For it is in these situations that we learn to trust and lean on Him more. He is ever present and longs to strengthen us in our walk of faith.
“Gratitude”
Brandon Lake
All my words fall short
I got nothing new
How could I express
All my gratitude?
I could sing these songs
As I often do
But every song must end
And You never do
So I throw up my hands
And praise You again and again
‘Cause all that I have is a
Hallelujah, hallelujah
And I know it’s not much
But I’ve nothing else fit for a king
Except for a heart singing
Hallelujah, hallelujah
Prayer: Dear God, sometimes we don’t have words enough that fully express our gratitude for all you do on our behalf. Today, I want to praise You for the many blessings that have come my way. Help me to share Your love with others who are needing a new beginning through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord. Give us peace and comfort in our individual circumstances, and let us sing Hallelujah to You today and forever. I pray this in Jesus name. Amen.
