“He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.” Psalm 23:3
There are some beautiful nature paths in my neighborhood which I enjoy from time to time. For this girl who was raised in the country, I love feeling as though I’m back in my element, even if it’s for just a little while. These paths that I walk seem to always enhance my closeness to the One who created heaven and earth.
When I think about the planning that took place for these nature paths to be where they are today, I am reminded that God has already gone before me in clearing my path. He knows the twists and turns that my life has taken and any that lie ahead. He knows the plans that He has for me from birth to death. (Jeremiah 29:11) My responsibility is to trust that He is leading me toward something beautiful, because He is.
Isn’t it wonderful to know that we are safe in the gentle Shepherd’s arms at all times, and that even though our paths haven’t always been straight, God has been working out all things for our good and His glory. He is an expert at working with us. The great news is that He takes us right where we are. He will always make something beautiful of our story so that we might testify to His never ending love and care for us.
Prayer: Dear God, there is no one like You! It is through Your great power that we are able to take the love of Jesus to those around us. Thank You for clearing our paths of any brush and weeds that would hinder us from being effective witnesses to others. Help us to stay strong and never give up our passion to serve You. We love You and we praise You. I pray this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
