Good morning and Happy Monday, friends! On this day a year ago, we had 3.5 inches of snow here in Central Texas! While that won’t be the case today, it’s nice to see the pictures and to be reminded of how beautiful the landscape was, even if only for a day!
This morning, these two timeless hymns and corresponding Scriptures popped into my mind. I wanted to share them, as their words have such truth and wonderful encouragement. How thankful we can be for such limitless grace which God so freely bestows on all who believe.
“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God.” Ephesians 2:8.
“Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!” 2 Corinthians 9:15
“But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, “God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.” James 4:6
He Giveth More Grace
Annie Johnson Flint, Copyright 1941
He giveth more grace when the burdens grow greater,
He sendeth more strength when the labors increase;
To added afflictions He addeth His mercy,
To multiplied trials, His multiplied peace.
When we have exhausted our store of endurance,
When our strength has failed ere the day is half done,
When we reach the end of our hoarded resources
Our Father’s full giving is only begun.
Fear not that thy need shall exceed His provision,
Our God ever yearns His resources to share;
Lean hard on the arm everlasting, availing;
The Father both thee and thy load will upbear.
His love has no limits, His grace has no measure,
His power no boundary known unto men;
For out of His infinite riches in Jesus
He giveth, and giveth, and giveth again.
Grace Greater Than Our Sin
Julia H. Johnston, 1910
Marvelous, infinite, matchless grace,
Freely bestowed on all who believe!
You that are longing to see His face,
Will you this moment His grace receive?
Grace, grace, God’s grace,
Grace that will pardon and cleanse within;
Grace, grace, God’s grace,
Grace that is greater than all our sin!🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶
Thanks for allowing God to lead you in wha to write each day. This was the PERFECT message for me today as I had my first knee replacement and have already walked twice. More PT tomorrow, but I know God will give me the strength and endurance I need. Thanks again.
Jackie, I am thankful your surgery was successful and will be praying for a complete recovery. I have not had knee replacement, but know it takes a lot of perseverance to do the PT. God will give you much needed strength, as He is so good to do when we need extra help. How wonderful it is that He is always there with us!! Hugs and prayers always, sweet friend. 🙏
