“so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it.” Isaiah 55:11
Recently, I tackled something that I’ve needed to start for a while, now. I typed 118 Scriptures which will be multiplied and used for a project a few months down the road. Being a former elementary school secretary, I decided to use the Avery 5160 label template as my guide, and it worked perfectly. Funny, but to this day, I remember the size template— Avery 5160. Can’t count the number of labels I’ve made in my lifetime! 😄 Some things stick with us long after their usefulness. But in this case, I guess Avery 5160 was once again useful!
I was excited to begin this project, first thinking of memorized Scriptures, then finding more in categories like encouragement, fear, hope, etc. It was very uplifting to read, type, and be reminded of these Scriptures. I thought about how powerful and wonderful God’s Word and the many promises found therein really is. It was not surprising that these 118 verses of Scripture comforted me as I typed each one.
I love that God’s Word helps us find strength to meet each new day. I’m so thankful that He promises us He is with us every step we take.
I’m going to keep these pages of printed Scriptures on my desk from here on out. I would like to memorize more than I already know. Having them there in front of me will no doubt be handy.
Prayer: Dear Lord, perfect Heavenly Father, Your Word is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path. I am so thankful that You provide us with the one constant in our lives. So much continues to change all around us, but You and Your Word will never change. Thank You, Father! The more we read it, the more we crave knowing You more. Please give us wisdom as we seek Your direction in all aspects of our life. We love You and thank You for hearing this prayer. In Jesus name. Amen.
Was this a Gideon project? We attended our local Gideon pastor banquet this week. It was good, as usual, but the speaker was especially inspiring this year. I saw Pat and Conley Williams. He is still “active” even in his wheelchair.
Thank you, Jackie. I’m so glad you and Thomas are able to attend the Pastor’s Appreciation event in your area each year. The Gideons love to honor local pastors! How wonderful to hear that the Williams’s were there and still active. They are wonderful people!
This was/is a project that I’m working on for the upcoming Texas State Convention next March. I have a little team of ladies who will eventually help me with the finishing touches. It’s always fulfilling to work toward something intended to bless others.
Have a great day! I am very appreciative that you visit The Resting Place on a regular basis. God bless! ❤️🙏
